One of our fabulous clients, The Artful Editor, recently partnered with us in assisting a writer with some coaching and editing for a piece she was hoping to have published in Salon magazine, a San Francisco-based progressive news website. The writer, Jennifer Myers—who is a cofounder of R.I.S.E. to Empower and the author of Trafficking the Good Life—is a speaker and federal prison consultant who prepares first-time, nonviolent offenders and their families for federal prison.
Myers sought expert assistance in the hopes that her article comparing her experiences in the federal prison system to the television series Orange Is the New Black would be accepted for publication. And indeed, Salon recently published as its cover story “I Lived Orange Is the New Black—Now I’m Going to Watch It.”
Congratulations, Jennifer!
